哥本哈根滨水空间：Kalvebod Waves

随着项目Kalvebod Waves在哥本哈根港池的开放，内港的一个中心部分终于成为可进入和吸引公众。这个新的水上公共空间作为城市中心的再造空间赋予了港口一个新的维度。

With the opening of the Kalvebod Waves at the harbour-font of Copenhagen, a central part of the inner harbour has finally become accessible and attractive to the public. This new public space on the water gives the harbour a new dimension as re-creational space in the center of the city.

历史上，港口的这一部分是用于工业活动的。后来在80、90年代，市政府卖掉了这块土地，这个地区被开发成了一个既有城市主义又有建筑学上的严酷和单一规划的海港前线，使其码头荒芜，迎着强风开放，没有任何公共生活。

Historically this part of the harbour was devoted to industrial activities. Then in the 80’s and 90’s, the city sold the land and the area was developed into a both urbanistically and architecturally harsh and monoprogrammed harbour front, leaving its quay barren and open to strong winds, devoid of any public life.

在解决这个臭名昭著的阴暗和荒凉的海港面时，建筑师把设计重点放在两个主要方面：创造城市的连续性和把新的结构定位在水面上的向阳处。

When addressing this infamously gloomy and desolated side of the harbour, the architects put their focus on two major design aspects: to create urban continuity and to locate the new structure on the sunny spots in the water.

朝向东南，码头在下午之前都有很好的日照条件，但为了在工作时间后吸引公众，建筑师需要研究沿着长廊的巨大建筑所投下的阴影的走向。两个新的主码头位于无影区，并被规划为水上的活动岛屿。该项目将这些岛屿与城市网络重新连接起来，并使它们自然地融入到城市的基础设施中。两座桥梁将主码头的尖端与老码头连接起来，形成了两个用于水上运动的内部水面。

Facing Southeast, the quay has fantastic sun conditions until the early afternoon, but to attract the public after working hours the architects needed to study the course of the shadows casted by the huge buildings along the promenade. The two new main piers are located in the shadow-free zones and programmed as active islands on the water. The project then re-connects those islands to the urban network and to makes them blend naturally into the city’s infrastructure. Two bridges link the tip of the main piers back to the old quay, creating two inner water-basins for watersport activities.

Just like in plan, the project is making waves in the 3rd dimension: on the waving pier the citizens and visitors of Copenhagen can explore the waterfront from different levels and enjoy its amazing views. The visitors can get close to the water, dip their feet or have a swim; they can also get five meters up, as if sailing on a boat. The new development invites the public to take a walk or boat-tour, rent a kayak, get a coffee in the container shops, sit in the sun or simply enjoy an exciting and active public space.

该项目事先没有过多的规划。建筑师的意图是为一个未知的内容创造一个框架，为公共生活提供一个展开的场所，让意想不到的事情发生。现在来看，这是一个正确的策略：人们以自己的方式使用Kalvebod Waves，超出了任何人的想象。

The project is not over-programmed in advance. The architects’ intention was to create a frame for an unknown content, a place for public life to unfold and the unexpected to happen. Looking at it now, this was the right strategy: people adopt the Kalvebod Waves in their own ways, beyond what anyone could have imagined.
