黑与白的对比：Duality 展亭

项目是一个为 Casas Project设计的展亭。 Casas Project是一个室内和室外设计节，2019年的主题是黑色和白色。我们选择了一处户外区域，在那里我们可以展示一种现代建筑装置，例如这个展亭，对Guayaquil的群众而言，他们从未见过类似的建筑。对于我们来说，这是一个展示公共空间强大影响力的机会。所以我们从地方政府、大学、文化机构和私营部门收集意见，设计出可以与外界结合的建筑。

Duality was a pavilion designed for Casas Project, an indoor-outdoor design festival that had Black and White asitsannual theme for 2019. We were invited to create a design intervention and chose an outdoor area where we could show case a contemporary architectural installation, such as a pavilion, that is historically rare for Guayaquil and its citizens. Forus, this was an opportunity to show case how powerful intervening public space can be. As a result, we gathered the interes to flocal government, universities, culturalin stitutions, and the private sector in order to produce out door architecture that can beemble matic.

黑白分明的对比，我们称之为二元对立。无限对立统一、互不兼容的两种力，可从各层对面观察，彼此锁定、组合。但是，二元性也是一个汇合点，在这一汇合点上，两种力量相互融合，取长补短，达到完整与平衡。叠片的边缘依赖于整体结构的功能，整个项目的叠片单元大小在20到140厘米之间。

We interpreted the contrast between black&white as duality. Two forces infinitely opposed and incompatible which can be observed on opposite sides of each layer that, inter locked, assemble the pavilion. However, duality is also a converging point where the seopposing forces intert wine taking the best of both worlds to achieve integrity and balance. The edges of the laminated pieces depend on the structural function of the whole. Dimensions throughout vary between 20 and 140cm.

展亭的建造围绕着一个空间展开，用新的建筑语言逐渐升高，创造出一个新的空间。整体造型从概念上讲，是由一系列垂直空间构成的室内和室外中间部分构成的。参观者在展亭内走动时，展亭结构会在开放或封闭的渗透体块间产生“凹陷”。在展亭内部，参观者通过了一座封闭而开放的建筑结构，内部是封闭的，但顶部会打开。

The pavilion’s architecture develops around a void in order to fill the horizon with new forms that, in turn, generate a new empty space. The general shape is conceptually composed of a series of vertical voids as intermediate points between the interior and exterior. As the visitor walks around and through the pavilion its structure creates the effec to foscillating between either an open or a closed permeable volume. Inside the pavilion, the visitor traverses a thresh old that is both contained and open due to the containment of the inner sanctum as well as the oculus that crowns the structure.

Thus, the pavilion uses duality as a study on complementing/contrastingforces, where one element can not exist without theo ther, not unlike black and white, or light and shadow.
