Uvarovo is the youngest city in the Tambov region of Russia. Uvarovo gained city status in 1966 following the construction and launch of the largest chemical plant in the USSR.

The design area – the pond in the 2nd microdistrict – is located in the central part of the city, within walking distance of significant public spaces. In terms of urban planning value, this site has the potential to unite existing recreational areas into an entire pedestrian route and connect it with Uvarovo's prominent natural landmark, the Vorona River.

This area has significant unrealised potential, as the pond in the 2nd microdistrict is a natural landscape in a densely populated part of the city. With almost no infrastructure (benches were only installed along the path by the pond in 2020), the pond visually represented an untapped natural landscape. Therefore, the project aims to address three key issues: undeveloped natural potential, isolation of the area from the city's evolving cultural and events I’m program, and lack of activities for different population groups.

Given the strong identity associated with the city's industrial past and the prosperity of the chemical industry, the project concept is titled "The Formula for Uvarovo's Prosperity". It consists of three main elements:

第一个元素——“浪漫”，体现在围绕池塘的休闲步行区域中，被命名为“樱桃峡谷”。这一领域受到了风景如画的公园形象的启发，有水面和绿色的坡地，与樱桃园和乌瓦罗沃的“樱桃身份”相符。为了完成浪漫的愿景，选择了艺术品和传统形式（拱门、桥梁、圆形建筑等）的现代诠释，作为形成新的象征性空间身份的新基础设施元素。

The first element - "Romance", is realised in the recreational walking area around the pond and is named "Cherry Ravine". This part of the territory is inspired by the image of a picturesque park with a water surface and green slopes, correlating with cherry orchards and Uvarovo's "cherry identity". To complete the romantic vision, art objects and traditional forms (arches, bridges, rotundas, etc.) in a modern interpretation are chosen for new infrastructure elements for forming a new symbolic spatial identity.

The second element - "Exchange of experience, knowledge, emotions, and goods", is implemented in a new activity hub with a multifunctional pavilion, trading area, and amphitheatre. This part of the territory draws on the image of a country estate, continuing the romantic mood of a picturesque garden, and refers to the main attraction of the Uvarovo district - the country estate museum of composer Sergei Rachmaninoff in Ivanovka village. The "amphitheatre - estate" has the potential to become another venue for Uvarovo's evolving events program. The area includes a multifunctional pavilion for events, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, a café, two non-stationary kiosks, and a small picnic area.

"Activities for young generations" in the "Street Culture Ravine" is a youth zone designed for active leisure and sports. This area includes a skate park, two sports courts – for volleyball and streetball – and a workout area. The design of this area incorporates industrial motifs, reflecting Uvarovo's rich industrial past and bright colours associated with street culture.

An ecological concept of the project includes planting riparian vegetation along the shoreline. The plants' roots strengthen the shore, and their stems and leaves slow down the surface stormwater runoff, protecting the shoreline from erosion and filtering pollutants from the stormwater before it discharges into the pond. Other benefits of this solution are increased land and water biodiversity and improved visual attractiveness of the area, as residents noted in post-project surveys.
