SHERLOCK酒店位于泰国清迈市宁曼繁华地段。这个全国第二大城市的街区以商业中心著称，到处都是时尚的咖啡店和精品店。它是一个城市和密集的街道群，真正不同于清迈平静小镇的省级和绿色特征。本项目的理念是在酒店氛围和高度城市化的周边环境之间建立强烈的对比。所有的设计过程，从最大的规模到最小的规模，都倾向于在小镇上创造一个绿色中的绿洲，一个"城市花园"。

The Cherlock hotel is located in the bustling area of Nimman, in Chiangmai, Thailand. This neighborhood of the second largest city in the country is renowned for being a business center, filled with trendy coffee shops and boutiques. It is a cluster of urban and dense streets that really differ from the provincial and green character of the calm town of Chiangmai. The concept of the project is to establish a strong contrast between the hotel atmosphere and the highly urbanized surrounding. All the process of design, from the largest to the smallest scale, tend to create a green oasis in town, an “Urban garden”.

从街道到大堂的过渡，对于酒店来说是不同寻常的。外立面不是透明的、温馨的，而是一堵厚厚的混凝土墙，强烈地将项目与周围隔离开来，同时设置了一个有趣的地标。一面弧形墙邀请客人进入这里。他们沿着走廊行走，最终到达位于场地中心的大堂。这种特殊的规划使得大堂被包裹在两个绿色的庭院之间，游客会被这些隐藏在城市丛林中的郁郁葱葱的花园所惊艳。大堂建筑的中心位置也让人联想到"Sala"，泰国农村社区的传统聚会空间。

The transition from the street to the lobby, is unusual for a hotel. The façade, instead of being transparent and welcoming, is a thick wall of concrete, strongly isolating the project from its surrounding while setting an intriguing landmark. A curved wall invites guests to enter the place. They walk along a corridor to finally arrive to the lobby, located in the center of the site. This particular planning allows the lobby to be encased between two green courtyards and visitors to be surprised by these lush gardens, hidden in the urban jungle. The central location of the lobby building also evoke a “Sala”, the traditional meeting space of rural Thai communities.

大厅建筑的两侧是卧室。主楼和游泳池在左手边，泳池套房在右手边。豪华和高级客房位于两层楼的建筑，俯瞰花园和游泳池庭院。楼上的房间有大阳台。楼下，每个房间都有自己的入口天井，以保证隐私。在大堂的另一边，泳池套房可以通过一个较小的庭院进入。私人泳池嵌套在花园和卧室之间的露台上。在这个半室外空间中，木制百叶窗可以打开以获得绿化景观，或者在需要隐私时关闭。室内设计力求简约，用木质家具，让建筑和自然成为亮点。

On both sides of the lobby building are the bedrooms. The main building and the swimming pool on the left hand and the pool suites on the right. The deluxe and superior rooms are located in a two floors building overlooking the garden and swimming pool courtyard. Upstairs, the rooms benefit of large balconies. Downstairs, each room has its own entrance patio in order to guarantee privacy. On the other side of the lobby, the pool suites are accessible through a smaller courtyard. The private pool is nested in a patio between the garden and the bedroom. In this semi-outdoor space, wooden shutters can be opened to get the view on the greenery or closed when privacy is needed. The interior design is meant to be simple, with wooden lose furniture, letting the architecture and the nature be the highlight.

在这个项目中，所有的材料都显示在它们的原始形式。墙壁由未加工的混凝土制成，路面由当地砖块制成，生锈的钢盒子从树上显露出来。这个建筑的目的是随着天气的变化而变化，随着环境和时间的变化而变老。它产生了一种温暖和有机的氛围，一种神秘的感觉，这是人们在清迈旅游时所寻找的。

In this project, all the materials are shown on their primal forms. Walls are made of raw concrete, pavement are made from local bricks and rusted steel boxes are emerging from the trees. This architecture is intended to change with the weather, to get old along with the elements and time. It results in a warm and organic atmosphere, a sense of mystery, that people are looking for when visiting Chiangmai.

项目的规划和物质性的构思是以景观为中心的。园林与建筑同样重要。茂密的热带植被模糊了建筑的形状，并在原始的混凝土墙面上创造出动人的色调和调子。建筑要在树叶之间被部分感知。这些郁郁葱葱的花园的好处是保护建筑不受强烈的阳光照射，在房间之间创造出私密性，同时也让客人觉得自己置身于一个脱离时间的空间，在外出探索城市之前可以在这里休息。

The plan and materiality of the project were conceived with the landscape in mind. The gardens are as important as the architecture. The dense tropical vegetation blurs the shapes of buildings and creates moving shades and tones on the raw concrete walls. The architecture is to be perceived partially between the leaves. The benefit of these lush gardens is to protect buildings from the strong sun, to create privacy between the rooms and also to give guests the impression that they are in a space out of time, where they can rest before going out exploring the city.
