在风景秀丽的乳源必背瑶寨，一座座古老的村落散布在崇山峻岭中，沿必背河而行，两岸石峰如刀劈斧削，雄奇险峻。山峰滴翠，层次分明，两山相夹，必背河从谷底大大小小的石头上流过，时而溅起浪花，两岸山峰林立，高插入云，山顶上常年云雾缭绕。必背瑶寨依山而建，有别致的树皮房、竹房，依山临涧的吊角楼别具一格。在木板构建的瑶族风味的树皮屋、吊脚楼，有巨大的水车、“过山瑶”民俗文化陈列馆以及民俗歌舞表演场等，每日由瑶家小伙子和瑶族姑娘为你表演的瑶族竹杠舞、顶杠、丰收舞和瑶族婚嫁等民族节目。

桂坑尾村位于必背镇桂坑村委的半山沟里，有“金色梯田之称”。是为数不多还保存有较完整的民俗节庆习俗的村庄，过山瑶，中国四大瑶族支系之一，以广东省乳源瑶族自治县为中心地区分布。语言属汉藏语系苗瑶语支，其语言在全世界瑶族中分布较广，乳源瑶族自称“勉”或“优路”、“依路”。在历史中，瑶民由于不堪忍受岐视与压迫，举家躲进大山之中，过着游耕游居、漂泊不定的艰辛日子，被称为“过山瑶”。

广场上的构筑物既要体现当地的风土人情又要完美的融合到周边秀丽的环境中。首先，我们的设计造型来源于瑶族长鼓舞”两鼓对接，中腰较细“，材质我们选用了竹子，这种既生态有能体现设计思想的天然材料。可塑性强的竹子被弯曲，组合成整个结构系统，通过与现代竹构工艺的结合，形成了一种自由、轻松同时又具有张力的形态设计。

The structures on the square should not only reflect the local customs and customs, but also perfectly integrate into the surrounding beautiful environment. First of all, our design shape is derived from the "two drums butt joint, the middle waist is thin" of the Yao Long Drum Dance. We choose bamboo as the material, which is both ecological and natural material that can reflect the design idea.The bamboo with strong plasticity is bent and combined into the whole structural system. Through the combination with modern bamboo construction technology, a free, relaxed and tensile shape design is formed.

八个“伞”状装置，围绕广场中心设置形成一个整体，直径6米，高度5米，“伞”之间的空隙让视线更为通透，“伞”的覆面由竹篾编织而成，能够透光，光影尽显结构和技术的美感，同时覆盖透明防水膜，兼顾防雨与采光的需求。

Eight "umbrella" shaped devices are arranged around the center of the square to form a whole. The diameter of the umbrella surface is 6 meters, and the height is 5 meters. The gap between the "umbrellas" makes the vision more transparent. The cover of the "umbrella" is woven from bamboo strips, which can transmit light. The light and shadow fully show the beauty of the structure and technology. At the same time, it is covered with transparent waterproof film, taking into account the needs of rain protection and lighting.

竹子在本质上是一种高效的结构材料：强度高，韧性大，并和钢铁一样具备拉张强度。分段的空腹结构，赋予其极为轻质同时又易弯成曲线轮廓的弹力特性。这些构造性能造就了竹子的材料特性。与木材相比，有着更强的弹力与柔韧性优势，且吸水膨胀率以及加热干燥收缩率都较小。

In essence, bamboo is an efficient structural material with high strength, high toughness and tensile strength like steel. The segmented hollow structure endows it with the elastic characteristics of being extremely light and easy to bend into curve contour. These structural properties create the material characteristics of bamboo. Compared with wood, it has stronger elasticity and flexibility, and its water absorption expansion rate and heating drying shrinkage rate are smaller.

长久以来，建筑对于美观、实用、坚固三原则的追求从未停歇，但结构形式的系统性变革仍处于襁褓期。无节制地开采、滥用建筑材料带来的种种问题，人们正在自食恶果，而竹子这类生态环保的本土天然建材，优点便愈发突出,足以建造新型的整体性可持续利用的建筑结构，同时将地域文化、现代技术与实用性完美融合。
