丛林中的夯土墙：芒果湾度假村水疗区

项目芒果湾度假村是富国岛上的一个名胜，它以其生态友好的概念吸引游客，在这片占地10公顷的土地上，只有44个房间。经过长时间的运营，该度假村需要翻新，我们受委托设计了项目的水疗区，我们的原则是：继承整个度假村简单、质朴而又舒适的氛围。

Mango Bay resort is a well-known place on Phu Quoc Island. The resort attracts the tourists by itseco-friendly concept, with only 44 rooms/bungalows on a piece of land that spreads over 10hectares. After a long time in operation, the resort needs to be renovated. We wereassigned to design The Spa, always with the principles: to inherit the simple, rustic but cozy spirit ofthe whole resort.

经过多次现场分析，我们将水疗区的位置放在一个轻盈的斜坡上，向着大海，隐藏在平房后面，被丛林包围。一条小土路连接着新旧之间的水疗区，旧的水疗区因此成为瑜伽和太极练习的空间。水疗区由4栋长方形的建筑组成，带顶棚的人行道连接，围绕着一个景观水池，两栋主楼包含接待区、更衣空间、淋浴区、治疗区以及治疗后的放松区，而两栋副楼只包含治疗区，每个治疗室的后面都有自己的私人露台，与一个小花园相连。

After several site analysis, the location of the spa was decided to be sat on a light slope toward thesea, hidden behind the bungalows and surrounded by jungle. A small earth path linked the new Spawith the old one, who was becoming the space for yoga and Taichi practicing. The Spa is composedof 4 buildings in rectangular shapes, linked by covered walkways, surrounding a landscape pond.The two mains building contain the Reception Area – Changing Space- Shower- Treatment –Relaxing area after treatment, while the two sub-buildings consist only of treatment rooms. Each treatment room had its private terrace at the back, connected to a little garden.

项目的特点是大量使用了夯土墙，这也是对度假区内旧的建筑元素的继承。这些厚厚的墙壁，结合扩展的屋顶和木质百叶门窗，创造了一个通风和舒适的内部空间，即使不使用空调也十分凉爽。木质百叶门窗的旋转系统有助于控制自然光进入内部空间的数量，这取决于客人的心情。

The feature of the project was the using of rammed earth walls. This also was a succession of thepreviously-built bungalows in the resort. Those thick walls, combine with the extended roof and thewooden louver doors/windows, create an airy and comfortable internal space, and by that, there isno need for air conditioner. The wooden louver doors/windows with pivoting system help controllingthe quantity of natural light access the inner space, depend on the moment and the mood of theguests.

景观设计上也遵循了度假村的精神，使用当地的植物和花卉作为种植植物。唯一的例外是景观池中种植的梅花，它代表了一个新的开始和对闲适氛围的期盼。在施工阶段，我们尽量避免破坏周围的丛林，建筑物成型后，园林部门就开始种植新的树木来替代被砍伐的树木。这些树是以前在苗圃里种植的，因此，只是需要在一点点的时间和一些热带雨后，度假村就已可以作为一个建筑物，在丛林中呈现自己的质朴美。

The landscape also follows the resort’s spirit, by using local plants and flowers for the garden. Theonly exception are the plumerias planted in the landscape pond, which represent a new beginningand expectation of peace. During the construction stage, we tried to avoid destroying thesurrounding jungle as much as possible. Right after the taking shape of the buildings, the gardenerbegan to plant new trees to replace the cut-down ones. Those trees were previously planted in theresort own nursery. Therefore, just after a little of time and a few tropical rains, the resort is ready topresent itself as a building among the jungle.
